Voluntourism at Crann Og Eco Farm

Why Volunteer Here?

Crann Og relies on the input of volunteers with a similar ethos to ourselves, to provide the space and means for people to reconnect with nature and make lifestyle choices that are more conducive to social equality and ecological conservation.  We are experienced volunteer hosts with a well established team, all of whom know what it is to be a volunteer and contribute their energies to locally and globally relevant causes.

When can You Volunteer?

We accept volunteers between the months of February and November inclusive.  Minimum stay with us is 1 month (4 weeks) and we are open to long term volunteers subject to us getting along and a probationary period of our minimum stay.  It is essential to enquire about volunteering with us well in advance, as we typically book out our volunteer calendar for any year by March at the latest.

Do I need to have experience?

We prefer volunteers with previous volunteering experience for sure, or life, travel and/or work experience that would compliment what we do here, but it is not absolutely essential.  Good peope with a willingness to learn and contribute are always welcome!  We encourage volunteers female and male and are open to all ages.  Our criteria are determined by the needs of our calendar, projects we have ongoing and what you may bring to our little community.

What about it?

In return for volunteering at Crann Og we offer full board and lodging all week long.  There is NO paid work here, we offer no employment, part time or otherwise.  We are interested in people who like to contribute to worthwhile causes in the world, and who can bring enthusiasm and energy to our ecofarm.  We are not a place to come to ‘perfect your English’ as we are generally too busy running our ecofarm to help with that.  It is essential that you have a good level of English language to volunteer with us.

We are a low technology zone, so if you need to be in constant connection with the internet and social media, then this is definately not the place for you!  We are all about unplugging from the web and getting back to nature.  That said, you will of course have fair and reasonable access to the internet in your free time here.

The food we offer is vegetarian, so if you rely on a meat diet we probably are not a good fit for you.  We also prefer volunteers who are much more interested in nature and who do not need to be near a big town or the city.  Of course in your free time you are free to travel to these places.

How do I get Involved?

First you need to contact us, and you can do that using the Volunteer Contact Form below.  Tell us about you and why you want to volunteer with us and what you feel you can bring to Crann Og while you are here.  From there we will continue a dialogue with you to see if we are a good fit for you, and you for us.  The sort of information we like to know is:

  • Your age, nationality and level of English.
  • Your gender in case we need to put you into shared accommodation.
  • Confirm that you are vegetarian or at least that you are comfortable eating vegetarian while you are here.
  • Previous volunteering, travel, work or vocational experience relevant to volunteering with us.
  • Can you cook as we take turns cooking shared communal meals?
  • Why you would like to stay with us and what you will bring to our ecofarm?
  • Your preferred start and finish dates to volunteer.
  • Any relevant food or other allergies that it would be important for us to know about in case of an emergency.
  • How we can contact You!
