The Energy System
The Falls Hotel sits on the River Inagh in Ennistymon. The 220-kilowatt river turbine installed at the property generates enough electricity to power the entire hotel when the river runs at full flow. In 2025, 90 solar panels were added to the roof, producing an additional 39kWh of clean energy.
This is one of the most genuinely renewable energy setups of any hotel in Ireland: a working hydropower turbine on a Clare river, supplemented by rooftop solar, providing independently verified clean electricity to a 4-star hotel.

The Falls Hotel is a 4-star property with spa, leisure facilities, and rooms overlooking the River Inagh and its cascades. Ennistymon is a small town in north Clare, within easy reach of the Cliffs of Moher (20km), the Burren (15km), and the Aran Islands ferry at Doolin.
